Why send an ROV instead of a diver? (Well, Saltwater Crocs is one excuse...)

Erica Bergman just updated her expedition to Cuba, and made a post on reasons to send an ROV instead of a diver. There are all sorts of good reasons: depth, time, speed, safety, saltwater crocodiles.

Check out here trip here: https://openexplorer.com/expedition/jardinesdelareina/

Also, OpenExplorer is now open for beta testers. If you've got a trip coming up, we'd love to have you use it and hear what you think.

In my business as a small commercial salvage operator diver safety is my prime concern. If I can reduce a diver’s exposure to the extreme hazards of salvage diving by using an OpenROV for recon or wreck penetration that’s a plus. Fewer dives also means a smaller bill for the client. Everyone ends up happy!
