Video of the first tank dive of 2.7 when it was still in R&D


It was around 10am when I got the call from Eric. “Walt’s got the boards and he should be in around 3pm. Can you be here today?”

Eric had spent months refining the mechanical structure, Walt had cranked out an all new light and controller board, and I had linked in all of the software to “magically” auto program the ESCs.

It was now time to put them all together. This is our recording from that evening where we did the first tank dive with all of the integrated parts for the 2.7 version of OpenROV… where it quite literally tries to jump from the water…
