SV Seeker

Doug and Kay Jackson are two of my favorite makers. I've followed their work for years - from their first ROVs to the Argonaut Jr, a wooden submarine - I've always enjoyed watching them work on ideas and bring them to life. Currently, their building a 74 foot steel hulled vessle in their yard in Tulsa Oklahoma. They're also building an ROV.

Everytime they post a new Youtube video, the whole OpenROV team stops what we're doing and watches. They're always fun and informative. I encourage you to check out their Youtube channel:

Stop It!!!

Nice demo of what feedback control can do when you have a tiny IMU/compass sensor unit available and control of critical axes. Reminds me of the old days when I worked on the automatic landing system on the Lockheed L-1011 Tristar jet. Can hardly wait to get my IMU/Depth sensor working on our OpenROV. The use of the neutrally boyant wooden board as a control system mockup was very inovative.
