I know these Lego pieces from my kids. I doubt that they will resist at the pression of more than 15 meters.

The cylinder is a lego part no: 6156699
You can find these parts at lego spareparts shops or you can “find” it in the toybox of your kids.

This configuration was a very “quick and dirty” try. I had all these parts laying around and I was very surprised to see that the first attempt worked very well. Maybe I would recommend a stronger bl motor. The motor sometimes stocks while starting.

Awesome! Thanks for the reply. This wil be my next project :slight_smile: At the moment I’m working on getting rid of the laptop, using Raspberry Pi for controlling and recording, and VR googles for view, and wireless from teather to Raspberry/googles…

Arne_O, I have now ordered the parts you suggested, with a bit more powerful motor as you suggested. But how did you do it with the electric interface? Assume you need another ESC for the motor? What type did you use? And how did you do the programming? Thanks :slight_smile:

I used a AfroESC from Hobbyking.
You also need the Afro USB programmer to change the firmware. Its no special ESC or firmware needed. Just a reversable brushless ESC.
If you have nothing else ordered I recommend the AfroESC.

Which motor have you choosen? I need another motor too for the next version of my gripper and I would be happy to read your expierences with a different motor.

After asking you the questions, I took a tour around in the forum, and figured out the Afro ESC and programmer, so that is already ordered :slight_smile: Also found som threads giving great guidance about mounting ESC, and software update, so at least I know where to start :slight_smile: I ordered this one: https://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=43040

how is it going? i am interested in your progress. I am thinking about a cheap N20 gearbox. if you attach to the gearbox, might not be N20, with 1:300 ratio you get 200gram * 300 * efficiency. and the brushless and copper gearbox can be used for 100 metre deep water?
