In the philosophy of "release early and often", tentative files for the new OpenROV 2.2 design have been posted on GitHub. Although there are still some tweaks and additions we'd like to make before announcing the official release of v2.2, we'd like to get the general design idea out there and hear feedback from the community.
The transition to GitHub is also new. We've explored several options for hosting open hardware and software designs including Google Code, SVN, etc, but GitHub seems to be the most appropriate service for what we're doing, and it's use in the Open Source community seems to be growing rapidly.
