Two weeks ago, I took my OpenROV diving beneath the ice in Christmas Lake in Minnetonka, MN. The ice was 24’ thick (the weather was about 50 degrees F so it was quite warm). We were able to fit the ROV down three auger holes (8’ auger). We also used a mobile icehouse sled as the topside station. I think this is a really fun use case for the robot and a very good way to inspect specific GPS points for wrecks or other points of interest.
Nice topside station! Did you manage to capture any video from your dive?
